I recently got inspired by one of my favourite podcasts: Gestalten which interviewed typo King : Erik Spiekermann. NY times also had a great article about the revival of the typewriter.
I used to go through loads of letrasets and dynamos when I was a student...I still enjoy pressing each and every letter onto paper or frames or walls...It's the shape and boldness of a letter I like and how it graphically communicates and personalises a message or even just decorates.
